Introduction

It is a amalgamated establishment of D.C Office belongs to Excise Department worked at district level as a branch of DC,Lakhimpur where D.C is a collector of Excise Revenue and the S.E. is a technical expert to DC manually. The Excise Department in Lakhimpur district is responsible for regulating the production, distribution and sale of Excisable Articles ensuring compliance with the Assam Excise Act,2000 and Assam Excise Rules,2016 and its amendments. The Department plays a vital role in curving  of menace of illicit liquor.

Our History

The Excise Department has been operational in Lakhimpur district since the formation of district with a primary focus on ensuring legal trade practices in Excisable goods and and maintaining public peace and tranquillity through strict enforcement against illegal alcohol & Narcotics.

Our Mandate

1. Collection of Excise Revenue as per Assam Excise Act & Rules.
2. Grant and Monitor licenses for liquor sale & distribution.

Key Programme and Schemes

1. Harvesting of Excise Revenue by introducing license vendor more and more as per the Govt. Policy.
2. Monitoring of Enforcement dives against illicit liquor traders and smugglers.

Achievements

Achieved 78.93 % of Fixed Excise Revenue Targets i.e. 139.34 Crores for the FY:2024-2025.
