Introduction: 

                        The Sub-Divisional Welfare Office, North Lakhimpur is an amalgamated establishment under parent  Department i.e under Directorate Tribal Affairs(Plain),Assam, Rukmini Nagar Guwahati-6. This establishment is responsible for implementing and overseeing welfare schemes meant for Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes(SC),Other Backward Classes (OBC),Minorities and Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes  at the Sub-Divisional level i.e North Lakhimpur Sub-Division. They are a key link between the District administration and the grassroots communities, ensuring that government programs reach the intended beneficiaries.

Our History:

                        The Sub-Divisional Welfare Office, North Lakhimpur was established in the year 1976. Initially, it was  attached with DC Office Lakhimpur located  in the heart of North Lakhimpur Town. The current location of the Office is at WARD NO- 7, TRITHESWAR HAZARIKA PATH ,NEAR GREEN VIEW HOTEL PS- NORTH LAKHIMPUR, DIST-LAKHIMPUR, PIN- 787001, ASSAM.

Mandate:

                        The Sub-Divisional Welfare Office, North Lakhimpur, plays a crucial role in:-

                        1. Implementing welfare schemes for marginalized communities (ST, SC, OBC, Minorities, Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes)

                        2. Overseeing and monitoring the programs at the North Lakhimpur Sub-Division.

                        3. Acting as a liaison between district administration Lakhimpur and grassroots communities

                        4. Ensuring government initiatives reach intended beneficiaries
