Introduction:

Lakhimpur Soil Conservation Division focuses on sustainable management of Soil, Water and Vegetation to prevent erosion and enhance Land productivity. Our Division implements various schemes and activities including Land and Water management on crop lands, wastelands, degraded forests, and riverine lands.

 

Our Mandate: 

Lakhimpur Soil Conservation Division mandate is to conserve, develop, and manage natural resources like Soil, Water  and Vegetation in a sustainable manner .

 

Key Programme and Schemes: 

Key activities of the our Division (1) Land Development works, Water management, Riverine Land Protection and other activities. And Schemes implanted by the Division (1) WDC-PMKSY,(2) SOPD and other schemes like Land Reclamation and water distribution and protection of Riverine Land.

 

Achievements: 

Key and achievements and initiatives (1) Land Development, Gully Control, Addressing Shifting Cultivation, Disaster management and Construction of Gully Control Project at 2no. Nahar Borghuli village and initiatives under the WDC-PMKSY program.

 

Future Plan: 

The future plan for the Lakhimpur S.C. Division likely involve sustainable resource management, particularly focusing on watershed management and land reclamation. This includes implementing various Soil and water conservation measures to control erosion and optimize resource utilization.
